Initially gaining exposure for his work as a graffiti artist, Goldie became well known for his pioneering role in the 1990s UK rave scene as a producer, including his work in musical styles such as jungle and breakbeat hardcore. He released a variety of singles under the pseudonym Rufige Kru and co-founded the label Metalheadz. He would later release several albums under his own name, including the 1995 album Timeless, which entered the UK charts at number 7.

"I've seen a lot of different things happen in drum & bass this year, different words, jungle this jungle that, intelligent this intelligent that, the one thing you need to remember is that it's a UK subculture and music. Theres only one thing I believe in, underground music"

By 1991, Goldie had become fascinated by the British breakbeat music scene when his girlfriend, DJ Kemistry, introduced him to the pioneering jungle and drum and bass producers Dennis "Dego" McFarlane and Mark "Marc Mac" Clair, known as 4hero. He went on to execute some design and A&R work for 4hero's Reinforced record label.

In 1992, Price made his first album appearance, by contributing a short vocal piece to the track "Rufige" by Icelandic group, Ajax Project. Since then the track has been repeatedly misattributed to Price himself, perhaps because of his subsequent use of "Rufige" as a moniker for his own ambitions.

Goldie has appeared in Guy Ritchie's Snatch and several other films, most notably the James Bond film, The World Is Not Enough. He also played gangster Angel Hudson in the British soap opera EastEnders (2001–2002). Price starred in Everybody Loves Sunshine (1999) (aka B.UST.E.D – United States title) with David Bowie.

Goldie appeared on the second series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2002. He was the first celebrity to be "evicted".

Björk was romantically involved with British drum & bass producer Goldie, but just prior to her relationship with Goldie, Björk was also linked to Tricky, another artist from the UK. Many believe that the line, "As long as you're humble/Let you be the king of jungle" from Tricky's "Tricky Kid" was a direct barb thrown at Goldie regarding their friction.

From the beginnings of house music in Chicago, 89.3 WNUR has brought to the airwaves a side of dance music that doesn’t get exposure elsewhere on the dial, in the clubs, or even in the party scene. While WBMX’s Hotmix 5 was playing the latest local cuts during house music’s big explosion, WNUR’s role was playing the imports. Such legendary DJs as Derrick Carter and Mark Farina held shows on WNUR in the late 80s/early 90s. In the mid 90s, DJ Snuggles’ Strictly Jungle show gained national recognition for being the first weekly drum ‘n bass show in the country.
